LOCATION: Yorkton Mental Health Drop-In Center – Sunshine Club on North Street – 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 17: Guest Speaker – Sasha Howland – “Making honey and what’s happening to the bee population”
Saturday, March 12: Prairie Sun Seed Festival – 12:30-4:00 p.m. – Yorkdale Central School. Displays and guest speakers.
Wednesday, March 16: Guest Speaker – Fred Waelchli – “Quinoa – Growing, processing, and the food value of this grain”
Friday, Sat., Sunday, April 8, 9, 10 – Gardenscape in Saskatoon
Wednesday, April 20: Guest Speaker – Prairie North Magazine, Norquay, SK – “How they decide what to put in the magazine”
Saturday, April 30: SHA “Spring Into Gardening” Workshop hosted by Carrot River Hort. Society
Wednesday, May 18: Guest Speaker – D’Arcy Schenk, Retired U. of R. – “Trees and Shrubs for city yards”
Friday, May 27: Spring Plant & Bulb Sale – Parkland Mall – Set up 8:00-9:30 a.m. One day sale only.
Wednesday, June 15: 6:00 p.m. Annual Pot Luck Supper. Location: Shelly & Dean Westberg, Saltcoats. Tour their yard, supper, and meeting to follow. Bring your own lawn chairs please. Members only and significant other.
Friday & Saturday, July 8, 9 and maybe 10 : Sask. Hort. Assoc. 10th Annual Bus Tour – Location TBA
Friday, July 22: Yorkton in Bloom Yard & Garden Bus Tours – 9:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 10: Yorkton Annual Flower & Vegetable Display Show at St. Gerard`s Parish Hall. Set up is between 8:00 a.m.-11:30. The show is open 1:00-5:00. Coffee and dainties – 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Thursday & Friday, August 17 & 18 : Sask. Hort. Assoc. Prov. Hort. Show & Competition hosted by Walter Willoughby Hort. Society – Canwood, SK.
Wednesday, Sept. 21: Guest Speakers – Frank Woloschuk & Glen Tymiak – “How to store dahlias, glads, calla/canna lilies, geraniums, etc.”
Friday, Sept. 23: Fall Plant & Bulb Sale – Parkland Mall – Set up 8:00-9:30 a.m. One day sale only.
Wednesday, Oct. 19: Member participation – Helpful Hints Booklet continued; Sharing from the Garden. Membership renewal and AGM supper tickets available.
Friday & Saturday, Oct. 14 & 15 Tentative : Sask. Hort. Assoc. Provincial Convention & AGM – Hosted by TBA.
Wednesday, Nov. 23: Yorkton Annual General Meeting & Supper Banquet at St. Mary’s Parish Hall -Yorkton. Entertainment – Video from Yorkton Arts Council. Silent Auction closes at 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 1: 6:00 p.m. Board of Directors Meeting & Program Planning Meeting to follow. Location: TBA
